For the second time, the State Forests participated in the Wind Conference – Wind Energy and Birds.

The Wind Conference – Wind Energy and Birds organized by the Association for Supporting Bird-Friendly Investments (PTAcom). This is already the second edition of this event, which is entirely dedicated to the impact of onshore and offshore wind farms on birds.

In Gdańsk, an international team of speakers and experts in the field of environmental impact assessments, modern technologies, as well as wind project management, gathered.

Representing the State Forests at the event was Jerzy Fijas – Deputy Director General for Sustainable Forest Management – who led a mini-panel dedicated to wind farms in forests based on Swedish experiences and the pilot Polish project “Forest of Energy” by the State Forests.

The Wind Conference is an excellent platform for all those willing to address this topic, listen to the needs and issues of stakeholders, and collectively consider rational approaches and optimal solutions. At the same time, scientists, managers, officials, decision-makers, developers, investors, and environmentalists came together.

The event responds to the question of common goals and the justification for intersectoral cooperation. The aim is to define actions and develop practices that will ensure a fair and sustainable energy transformation in countries at various stages of development.
