Hydrogen technology in forests

🌳 On 26 September, a letter of intent was signed with the Polish Hydrogen Group at the headquarters of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Poznań. The potential cooperation is a step towards the development of a low-carbon economy in Poland. ⚡

🤝 The action with the Polish Hydrogen Group will be to explore the possibility of producing clean energy from hydrogen cells on land managed by the State Forests. In the future, the aim of the initiated cooperation is to jointly produce green hydrogen to support the development of local hydrogen energy. 🌱 This is how we, as State Forests, join the process of Poland’s energy transformation,’ says Wiesław Krzewina, Director of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Poznań.

🌲 For several years now, the State Forests have been introducing zero-carbon management solutions in various areas of their operation, such as infrastructure, production or transport. 🏗️ Three development projects serve to implement this strategic approach: ‘Forest of Energy’, “Carbon Forests” and “Increasing the energy efficiency of buildings in PGL LP”.

🏢 Such activities are also an expression of the social responsibility of the State Forests and a significant contribution to reducing the institution’s carbon footprint. 🌍

⚙️ Hydrogen management consists of the production, transmission, storage and application of hydrogen in everyday human activities, particularly in economic sectors such as transport, energy, heating and, above all, industry. 🚚🔋

💧 Hydrogen is the simplest, lightest and most common element in the universe. It has many potential applications, which will make it one of the key energy cells in the European Union. 🇪🇺 Its use is reflected in European policies such as the European Green Deal.
